Compassion

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in Paris, 'Compassion' captures trumpeter and Strata-East co-founder Charles Tolliver leading an impassioned post-bop quartet. The album showcases his soaring, clarion tone and complex modal compositions, supported by an energetic European rhythm section. It stands as a vibrant document of the era's independent, spiritually tinged jazz movement.
