Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking the debut of his acclaimed Los Angeles-based ensemble, the legendary bassist explores the intersection of classic hard bop and cinematic nostalgia. 'Quartet West' features saxophonist Ernie Watts and pianist Alan Broadbent weaving sophisticated melodies through tight, swinging rhythms. The recording successfully captures the romanticized, noir-tinged atmosphere of mid-century Hollywood jazz.
