Lonely Weekends With Charlie Rich

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded for Sun Records' subsidiary, this debut captures the incredibly versatile pianist and vocalist bridging the gap between frantic rockabilly and smooth pop. The arrangements heavily feature driving piano triplets and prominent vocal choruses, providing a polished counterpoint to his slightly gritty, highly emotive singing. The album signals his immense potential to straddle multiple American musical genres.
