Album Notes & Community Reviews
Operating under the oppressive censorship of the Brazilian military dictatorship, Chico Buarque utilized incredibly sophisticated metaphors and lush MPB melodies to deliver a devastating political critique. 'Meus caros amigos' is a wonderfully warm, beautifully bittersweet masterclass in singer-songwriter storytelling, weaving intensely poetic, deeply sentimental romanticism with powerful, subtly woven protest.
