Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning to his acoustic roots after a decade in mainstream rock, the former Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers bassist delivers a pure, unadulterated country and bluegrass offering. 'Desert Rose' features virtuosic picking from guests like Herb Pedersen and James Burton, blending progressive bluegrass elements with traditional singer-songwriter introspection. It successfully re-established Hillman as a vital elder statesman of the Americana movement.
