Album Notes & Community Reviews

Written entirely in the direct aftermath of a devastating romantic breakup, the crooner delivered his most emotionally vulnerable and widely acclaimed record. The pristine, highly nostalgic production relies heavily on the reverb-drenched twang of classic surf rock and 1950s rockabilly. The remarkably melancholic, deeply sincere songwriting earned him a Grammy nomination and solidified his reputation as a modern master of the heartbreak ballad.
