Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following the departure of founder Rozz Williams, Valor Kand assumed total control of the pioneering American gothic rock outfit. 'The Scriptures' leans heavily into apocalyptic, anti-religious themes and dense, experimental post-punk instrumentation driven by David Glass's tribal drumming. While polarizing to early purists, the record solidified the European-based, politically charged second iteration of the band.
