The American instrumentalist pivots from his usual acoustic American Primitivism toward expansive, pedal steel-driven ambient drone. The tracking relies entirely on the slow, heavily delayed, and reverberated swells of the pedal steel guitar, stripping the instrument of its traditional country music context. The resulting compositions are deeply meditative, creating vast, cinematic landscapes of pure acoustic resonance.
