Marinheiro só

Album Notes & Community Reviews

An absolute masterclass in traditional Afro-Brazilian roots music, this album captures the immense, weathered power of the revered sambista's voice. Stripped entirely of commercial pop polish, the recordings focus purely on highly intricate, polyrhythmic percussion and deeply religious, call-and-response vocal structures. It is a profound, culturally vital preservation of authentic Candomblé and partido alto traditions.
