Album Notes & Community Reviews
Presenting the robust tenor saxophone of Clifford Jordan, 'Starting Time' is a quintet date featuring the stellar trumpet work of Kenny Dorham. The session effectively captures the transition in modern jazz, balancing aggressive, swinging hard bop numbers with open-ended modal frameworks that allow for extended harmonic exploration.
