Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded rapidly in a single, high-energy session, this is widely considered the absolute pinnacle of traditional Louisiana Zydeco music. The 'King of Zydeco' delivers deeply infectious, accordion-driven swamp blues with the incredibly tight backing of his Red Hot Louisiana Band. The intensely joyful, highly rhythmic execution established the LP as a foundational masterwork of Southern roots music.
