Album Notes & Community Reviews
Issued three years after 'Black Snake Blues', the album centres on 'I Am Coming Home', the blues waltz Chenier wrote for his mother while she was dying, presented here in its definitive studio recording. Chenier, then based at the Blue Angel dance hall in Lafayette, performed the song in Les Blank's 1973 documentary 'Hot Pepper'.
