...And the Ambulance Died in His Arms

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Documenting John Balance's final performance before his tragic death, '...And the Ambulance Died in His Arms' was recorded at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in 2003. The set is shrouded in a remarkably dense, hallucinatory fog of ritualistic drones and dark ambient textures, anchored by Balance's deeply unsettling, prophetic vocal improvisations. It serves as an uncomfortably prophetic, deeply moving epitaph for one of experimental music's most unique voices.
