Album Notes & Community Reviews

A pioneering effort in the synthesis of jazz improvisation and traditional Indian instrumentation, led by the virtuosic sitar and tabla player. Supported by ECM heavyweights including John Abercrombie and Dave Holland, the sessions are defined by their incredibly spacious, atmospheric blending of Eastern drone and Western post-bop. The record helped establish the blueprint for modern, globally conscious world-jazz fusion.
