Album Notes & Community Reviews
Distilling the immense power of his big band into a significantly tighter, blues-focused format, this collection highlights the bandleader's minimalist, highly rhythmic piano style. The brilliantly swinging instrumental interplay effectively demonstrates the deep, undeniable connection between Kansas City jazz and the traditional blues.
