Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released during a turbulent, transitional period for the iconic backing band, 'At Crooked Lake' doubles down on a polished, harmony-rich country rock aesthetic. The sessions reflect the influence of newly added members, pushing the group's sound further away from their gritty garage-rock origins toward a laid-back, pedal steel-driven atmosphere. It remains a fascinating snapshot of the ensemble attempting to chart an independent course.
