Album Notes & Community Reviews
The veteran technical metal outfit significantly softens their sound for this release, abandoning death metal growls and heavy distortion almost entirely. Embracing shimmering, delay-drenched clean guitars and Paul Masvidal's distinct vocoder-layered singing, the compositions lean heavily into deeply melodic, spiritual progressive rock. The drastic pivot sharply divided long-time fans of their heavy, technical origins.
