Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded during a hiatus for The Black Keys, this solo debut allowed the frontman to explore a slightly more subdued, acoustic-driven approach to his signature fuzzy blues-rock. While still featuring moments of blistering garage-rock distortion, the record leans heavily into soulful Americana, psychedelic textures, and deeply personal lyricism detailing a recent divorce. It proved his capability as a versatile, independent songwriter and producer.
