Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Brown Sugar' is a landmark debut that effectively birthed the neo-soul movement, melding classic 70s soul aesthetics with modern hip-hop production. D'Angelo provides incredibly mellow, sensual, and highly romantic vocal performances over warm, deeply rhythmic, and nocturnal R&B grooves.
