Album Notes & Community Reviews

A highly intellectual ensemble famous for complex time signatures approaches the flowing, syncopated rhythms of Brazil with characteristic structural precision. The interplay features delicate, lyrical saxophone work floating above a refined, lightly swinging rhythm section. Rather than a pure authentic translation, the album succeeds as a sophisticated, uniquely American jazz interpretation of the bossa nova craze.
