Album Notes & Community Reviews

Culled from a highly successful collegiate tour, this breakthrough release significantly expanded the commercial audience for intellectual, heavily classically-influenced jazz. The brilliantly lyrical alto saxophone work of Paul Desmond provides a flawless, highly melodic counterpoint to the pianist's heavy, polytonal block chords.
