Album Notes & Community Reviews

Inspired by a tour of East Asia, Dave Brubeck adapts the pentatonic scales of traditional Japanese koto music for the acoustic piano. Paul Desmond's airy alto saxophone floats over Joe Morello's sparse percussion, incorporating Eastern melodic motifs into a standard West Coast cool jazz framework.
