Album Notes & Community Reviews

Moving away from the complex, odd-meter explorations of his 'Time' series, 'Time In' finds the Dave Brubeck Quartet returning to a more relaxed, groove-oriented cool jazz approach. The record emphasizes nuanced interplay between Brubeck's heavy chordal comping and Paul Desmond's fluid, airy alto saxophone lines. It represents a subtle but satisfying consolidation of the quartet's signature sophisticated sound.
