Album Notes & Community Reviews
Arranger David Matthews creates an unauthorized, highly stylized jazz-funk conceptual tribute to Frank Herbert's sci-fi novel. The CTI Records release features lush orchestration, space disco synthesizers, and smooth jazz instrumentation, incorporating interpolations of classical themes and popular film scores. It is an eccentric, highly produced relic of late-1970s crossover jazz.
