Album Notes & Community Reviews

David Murray leads an octet featuring cornetist Olu Dara and trombonist George Lewis on 'Home', emphasizing collective improvisation within extended post-bop structures. The sessions capture the collective spirit of New York's loft jazz scene, where Murray was emerging as a central figure bridging straight-ahead and free forms. The album remains an important document of the downtown creative music community's energy in the early 1980s.
