Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recording another stunning session for Black Saint, the saxophonist continues to demonstrate his unparalleled skill as an arranger and bandleader. 'Hope Scope' brilliantly balances the structural elegance of classic swing with fiery, untethered free jazz improvisation. The octet's powerful, dense interplay solidified Murray as one of the most crucial voices in the eighties jazz continuum.
