'Yonn-D茅' was David Murray's first album with the Gwo-Ka Masters of Guadeloupe, matching his tenor saxophone and bass clarinet to the ka drums and Creole chant of the tradition. The collaboration continued on 'Gwotet' and 'The Devil Tried to Kill Me', making Murray the most prominent jazz musician to build whole records on gwo-ka.
