Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'Lonely People with Power', Deafheaven returns to their signature blackgaze sound, creating a synthesis of the aggressive, black metal-influenced ferocity of earlier work and the shoegaze textures explored on 'Infinite Granite'. Working again with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, the band balances George Clarke鈥檚 predominantly harsh vocals with layered, melodic guitar work and dynamic songwriting, with a sonic palette expanded by interludes and guest contributions from Boy Harsher's Jae Matthews and Interpol's Paul Banks.
