Sunbather

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Sunbather' catapulted Deafheaven to critical acclaim by seamlessly fusing the ferocity of black metal with the shimmering textures of shoegaze and post-rock. The album is defined by its bright, major-key melodies and George Clarke's tortured shrieks, creating a unique emotional palette of triumphant melancholy. Its pink cover art and crossover appeal sparked intense debate, but its artistic impact on the metal landscape is undeniable.
