Year of the Snitch

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Year of the Snitch' finds Death Grips expanding their experimental hip-hop framework through key collaborations, including extensive turntable work from DJ Swamp and bass from Tool's Justin Chancellor. The production is intentionally dense and claustrophobic, layering MC Ride's signature frantic vocals and cryptic lyrics over a volatile mix of punk energy, classic rock, and frenetic electronic music guided by Zach Hill’s intricate drumming. Thematically, the album continues the group's invocation of notorious figures, with its title and the track "Linda's in Custody" alluding to Manson Family member Linda Kasabian.
