Death Grips

Formed in Sacramento, California, in 2010, Death Grips is an experimental music group that radically merges genres. [1, 5] The trio's sound is a volatile fusion of industrial, noise, electronic music, and punk rock, all grounded by a hip-hop framework. [1, 2, 6] This sonic signature is built from Stefan Burnett's cryptic, aggressive vocals, Zach Hill's chaotic and powerful drumming, and Andy Morin's abrasive production and sampling. [1, 7] Through a confrontational posture toward the music industry, including leaking their own work, the group has cultivated a reputation for unpredictability and has influenced a wide spectrum of contemporary music.
