The notoriously eccentric San Francisco indie-rock pioneers introduced their fractured, deeply uncompromising aesthetic on this debut album. Recorded primarily on four-track cassette, the profoundly lo-fi release balances Satomi Matsuzaki's fragile, childlike vocals with explosive, improvisational bursts of chaotic, dissonant guitar noise.
