Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded live in Los Angeles, 'Zeitgeist' captures the psychiatrist and pianist leading an incredibly intuitive trio featuring Charlie Haden on bass and Jerry Granelli on drums. The performances blur the lines between structured post-bop and free improvisation, highlighting Zeitlin's remarkable harmonic sophistication. The session is widely regarded as a pinnacle of mid-century piano trio interplay.
