Biography
Denny Zeitlin is a Chicago-born jazz pianist and composer, born in 1938, who has balanced music with a parallel career as a psychiatrist and clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco. His 1960s #Columbia Records# trio albums 'Cathexis', 'Carnival' and 'Zeitgeist' remain landmarks of harmonically rich post-bop, and *Bill Evans* championed his composition 'Quiet Now'. He later worked with synthesizers, scored a major film soundtrack, and continues to record acoustic trio and solo piano albums.
