Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the sophomore album from the collaborative project of Grizzly Bear's Daniel Rossen and Fred Nicolaus, this record is an incredibly dense, lush masterpiece of nostalgic folk-pop. Dedicated to Rossen's late father, the music weaves intricate fingerpicking, sweeping orchestral arrangements, and Brian Wilson-esque vocal harmonies into deeply emotional, cinematic textures. It was widely heralded as a pinnacle of the late-2000s indie folk movement.
