Album Notes & Community Reviews
Almost entirely crafted by founding member Vince Clarke before his departure, Depeche Mode's debut is a shockingly bright, naively joyous monument of early synth-pop. Built upon simple drum machines and bouncy analog synthesizers, 'Speak & Spell' is an incredibly playful, fiercely rhythmic dance-pop gem that radiates youthful, futuristic energy.
