Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in 1966 but shelved for nearly a decade, 'Look for the Black Star' captures saxophonist Dewey Redman bridging hard bop with intense free jazz experimentation. The acoustic session is highly cryptic and rhythmically complex, serving as a vital prelude to his extensive collaborations with Ornette Coleman and Keith Jarrett.
