Swing Low, Sweet Cadillac

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded at the Memory Lane club in Los Angeles, this energetic set captures the bebop pioneer integrating deeply infectious Afro-Cuban rhythms and Latin percussion into his signature bop style. Accompanied by James Moody on tenor saxophone and flute, the leader demonstrates that his virtuosic trumpet chops and famously playful, humorous stage demeanor remained entirely undiminished. The album proved highly successful, reaffirming his enduring commercial viability in a rapidly changing jazz landscape.
