Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Compton veteran shifts away from his traditional hardcore gangsta rap persona, delivering a noticeably smoother, highly musical take on West Coast hip-hop. 'Balance & Options' showcases DJ Quik's virtuosic production, heavily integrating live instrumentation, vocoders, and lush R&B vocal hooks. The album serves as a sophisticated, deeply rhythmic evolution of his foundational G-funk sound.
