Album Notes & Community Reviews
South African pianist Dollar Brand (Abdullah Ibrahim) masterfully intertwines native folk melodies with swinging jazz rhythms on 'African Herbs'. The deeply melodic, highly repetitive instrumental compositions create a warm, uplifting atmosphere central to the Cape jazz movement.
