Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Demonstration Tapes' is a self-released double album compiling 27 demo tracks that crystallize the band鈥檚 core sound, a distinctive blend of post-punk energy and infectious '60s girl-group melodicism. The intentionally raw production highlights the trio's intuitive pop songcraft and instrumental chemistry, which were often at odds with the slicker packaging attempted by record labels. By capturing the band in this direct and unpolished form, the collection became their definitive statement and a cult artifact that would influence subsequent indie-pop movements.
