Biography
Dolly Mixture were a Cambridge trio of Debsey Wykes (bass, vocals), Rachel Bor (guitar, vocals) and Hester Smith (drums), active from 1978 to 1984. Their harmony-rich, 1960s-influenced guitar pop stood apart from post-punk and later became a touchstone for British indie pop. No studio album appeared in their lifetime; their demos were collected as 'Demonstration Tapes' in 1984, and reissues have since cemented their cult reputation.
