Album Notes & Community Reviews

Donovan recorded 'Open Road' after assembling a short-lived band of the same name, moving away from the more ornate production associated with his late-1960s work. The album emphasizes leaner folk-rock arrangements, travel imagery, and a looser ensemble sound that reflected his attempt to reframe himself outside the solo troubadour format.
