Biography
Donovan Philips Leitch is a Scottish singer, songwriter, and musician who became a defining voice of the 1960s flower power era. Initially emerging from the British folk scene with hits like 'Catch the Wind', he soon developed a unique, eclectic style blending folk, pop, psychedelia, and jazz. His work with producer *Mickie Most* for #Epic Records# yielded iconic tracks such as 'Sunshine Superman', 'Mellow Yellow', and 'Hurdy Gurdy Man'. Donovan's mystical lyrics and innovative sound, which often incorporated instruments like the sitar, made him a pioneer of psychedelic pop and a significant influence on contemporaries like *The Beatles*.
