Secret Love
by Dry Cleaning
On their third album 'Secret Love', Dry Cleaning expands their post-punk palette by working with producer Cate Le Bon, who introduces a broader range of textures including synthesizers and a hint of 80s funk. Florence Shaw’s vocals, while still rooted in her signature deadpan spoken-word style, venture into melodic singing on several tracks, lending a new vulnerability to her collage-like, observational lyrics. This results in a more spacious and reflective sound that balances the band's taut instrumental interplay with a newfound atmospheric and emotional depth.
