Album Notes & Community Reviews
A landmark album in Korean hip-hop, 'The Anecdote' was famously written and recorded while rapper E SENS was incarcerated, and released during his time in prison. The album is a masterclass in lyrical storytelling, featuring deeply personal and introspective narratives about his life, struggles, and observations, set against a backdrop of classic, sample-heavy boom-bap production. It was met with universal critical acclaim, winning both Album of the Year and Best Rap & Hip Hop Album at the Korean Music Awards, a first for any artist.
