Album Notes & Community Reviews
Following the massive commercial success of their debut, the sprawling Los Angeles collective retreats into a noticeably more subdued, acoustic-driven sophomore effort. Produced entirely by frontman Alex Ebert, the album dials back the ecstatic, choral gang vocals in favor of intimate, Laurel Canyon-inspired folk arrangements and introspective balladry. The project reflects a mature, reflective shift while maintaining the group's signature communal warmth.
