The debut solo album from the founder of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra. 'Plays "High Gospel"' is a deeply personal and sonically dense work, combining layers of guitar noise, tape loops, drones, and Menuck's distinctively plaintive vocals. The album translates the epic, socio-political scope of his band projects into a more intimate, albeit still immense, sonic framework.
