Album Notes & Community Reviews
Reuniting for one final studio effort, Egg moved significantly toward the darker, more academic side of the Canterbury Scene. 'The Civil Surface' utilizes unconventional time signatures and tight, Stravinsky-inspired chamber rock arrangements, creating an abstract, intellectually rigorous masterpiece of progressive fusion.
