Biography
Egg were an English progressive rock trio from London, active from 1968 to 1972 with a final reunion album in 1974. Organist Dave Stewart, bassist and vocalist Mont Campbell and drummer Clive Brooks, formerly of Uriel, played complex, whimsical progressive rock associated with the Canterbury scene. Their three studio albums, 'Egg' (1970) and 'The Polite Force' (1971) for #Deram Records# and 'The Civil Surface' (1974) for #Caroline Records#, were commercial failures that later won a lasting cult reputation.
